Takeaways from this Webinar:
Within organizations there are usually more OHS personnel that process safety personnel, and they are often plant based. We also have a large range of OHS based programs in place that are well established. So how can we leverage the great work done in OHS in the past to improve process safety. By leveraging the systems, tools and people we have the potential to improve process safety more quickly then trying to create new systems. This webinar will explore areas where similarities exist and how they can be leveraged.

About the Chemical Processing Process Safety Series

The need for process safety in the chemical industry is paramount. Technical knowledge and understanding of hazards and risks associated with operations in addition to the implementation of that knowledge into practice are the keys to keeping workers and the environment safe. Chemical Processing’s Process Safety webinar series aims to address best practices by covering the major areas within process safety to improve process safety performance.

The Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station will be issuing a certificate of completion for 1 Professional Development Hour for each of the four Process Safety events in 2020. To qualify, attendees must be present during the entire webinar and they must indicate in our poll/survey that they wish to receive a certificate.

The late Dr. M. Sam Mannan, PE, CSP, DHC, regents professor and director, Mary Kay O' Connor Safety Center, worked with the editors of Chemical Processing to create this series. He served as the expert presenter for each webinar until his death in 2018.
